In this blog post, I will be discussing and showing my drafts for my double-page spread. I used Canva to create both of these double-page spread drafts. They both have the same images and color scheme. I already knew that I wanted my double-page spread to be soft pastels so I didn't even change up the color scheme for both of my first drafts. I like both of my first drafts but I have an idea of which one I will end up using.
First Draft:
The color scheme is soft pastels to give off a soft girly vibe.
The photos on the second page of the double-page spread are in polaroid frames because it makes the photos more appealing to look at.
The subheadings catch the reader's attention and let them know it's a new point because it is in bold and underlined.
I included a pull quote from one of my golf coach's responses to a question from the interview.
Second Draft:
The color scheme consists of soft pastel colors which have a girly vibe.
The photos are in a Polaroid frame because I believe it will attract the attention of young females and also keep the attention of the reader. After all, photos in a Polaroid frame are so much more appealing to look at.
The fonts I used are more relaxed than the first draft and more on the laid-back side.
I think the elements work well together and complement each other.
I put the subheadings in bold and underlined them to catch the attention of the reader.
I put a pull quote under the last interview question to emphasize an important point and I think that the font I used will catch the reader's attention.
In conclusion, I like both of the drafts I created for the double-page spread. I was going for a softer color scheme and I would say I executed that idea well. I love how the colors work together. I used a Polaroid frame for the photos on the second page of both double-page spreads. I love the girly vibes Polaroids give off because many young teen girls either own a Polaroid camera or have Polaroid photos. I used different fonts on both of the drafts to change up the mood a little but keep the same vibe. I like both of these drafts but I am leaning more towards the second one just because I like how all of the images are in Polaroids and I love the font but I think I am going to end up changing the color of the background depending on the critique my classmates give me.
