Cover: 1st Draft

In this blog post, I will be discussing my drafts for my magazine cover. I have created two to decide on. I used Canva to create both of my magazine cover drafts. I found it very easy to use because I am familiar with Canva and I have created projects on it before. They both have the same photo and the same text but different fonts and colors. I think I have an idea of which one I will end up using but I think they may need some changes depending on the critique I will receive in the future. I am proud of my drafts and I think they are very close to being perfect.

First draft:

• I really like the colors I used for this draft because it shows a more young female vibe and it would most likely attract young females to read the magazine because the colors are very appealing.

• The colors in this first draft are also very vibrant and help keep the attention of the reader.

• The fonts I used are very clear to read and easy to understand.

• I like the sizing of the text in this draft because it is very eye-catching and keeps the attention of the reader.

Second Draft:

• This draft is a more laid-back magazine cover that doesn't catch the attention of the reader.

• The color choices are very boring and don't match the vibe of the target audience since the target audience is young females and young females usually have a fun, bright-colored vibe.

• The fonts on this draft are not as clear and confuse the reader making them not attracted to read the magazine.

• This magazine looks like it is meant to be for both genders because of the mood and vibe even though it is meant for young females only.

In conclusion, I like both of the drafts I created for the magazine cover. I think they both have very different vibes because of the colors and fonts. I am liking the first draft I shared because the colors are very vibrant and girly whereas the second one is bland. The second one is shown as a more gender-neutral magazine cover when my magazine is targeted at young females. The first one shows a more female vibe which would attract more young females to read the magazine because of the fun bright colors. I think I will end up using the first draft I shared but I do believe changes can be made to perfect it.
