Magazine Genre Selection

The genre I am selecting for my magazine is sports. I am choosing this magazine because I have a lot of sports experience. I have played 8 sports in my childhood, and I am still playing golf after 11 years of being consistent. The genre photoshoots I have done so far are sports and food. I found it pretty challenging to capture perfectly timed photos for golf because the swing is very fast, and it was always windy and everything would be moving if it was a still shot of an object relating to golf. The food genre photoshoot was easier than the golf one, but the only issue I had was getting the right angles and making the shadows less visible. I learned many different things about different genres such as; home decor can have many styles like, rustic, minimalistic, and modern. For the fashion genre, I learned that colors look different based on the color of the model's skin, for example, lighter colors look better on dark-colored skin and darker colors look better on light-colored skin. The reason I chose sports for my magazine is because I believe it would be the most challenging and fun. After all, I would get to go outside and play more golf to get photos for the magazine. I feel very happy choosing this as my final genre for the magazine. I think I am very satisfied with sports as my genre because I enjoy being outside and playing golf, and nothing else grabs more of my attention than this genre. My magazine will stand out from other magazines because I am going to use vibrant colors to grab the reader's attention. My photos will also be clear and appealing to the eye, so it will make the reader more interested than looking at dull photos. The text in my magazine will also be big enough, so the reader doesn’t feel like they are reading too much and get bored. The social groups that will be represented in my magazine will be professional golfers, people who play golf for fun, and people who are beginners that want to learn how to play golf. Doing sports as my magazine genre will be fun because it was challenging when I was taking the photos for the second genre photoshoot, and I will also get to include my friends that play golf in a school project. I am very excited to do this genre for my magazine, and I hope the final result meets my expectations.
